Baseball Season

Baseball practices started last month, and now the games have begun.  All three boys are playing this year.  That means 6 games a week (on weeknights) except last week, when they also had Saturday games, for a total of 9 Campbell games last week.  Tony is coaching Jeremiah and Joshua's teams, so we can never have 3 games at one time.  There are plenty of times we have 2 at a time, though.

Joseph is having a great year.  It is his second year of kid pitch, and he is hitting and fielding well.

This explains why his lips are often chapped:

Joshua is playing coach pitch.  This is his first year where almost all of the regular rules of baseball are in effect, and they keep score and league standings.  Or, as I like to call it, the year when things get serious.  He is also doing well.  His hitting is coming along, and he threw someone out the other night to end an inning.

Not exactly the "baseball ready" position:

Kicking up a cloud of dust on his way to first base:

Post-game snack while watching Joseph's game finish up:

Jeremiah is playing t-ball for the first time, on a team of 3 and 4 year olds.  Heaven help us all.  He is our most happy-go-lucky child, and it shows on the baseball diamond.  As much focus as he puts into playing with cars, you'd think he would have great focus on the ball field.  But you'd be wrong.  He's enjoying himself, though.  One of the dads from Joseph's team happened to be at this particular game and took these pictures for us.  I haven't had my good camera at one of his games yet.

This is how Joshua "watches" Jeremiah play if he's not also playing:

We'll all be at this through the third week of May, so if you need us, we'll either be eating supper at 4:45 or we'll be at the ball park!
